Waltham 29 Broccoli Seeds. Brassica oleracea var. italica. Annual. Non-GMO. Developed at the University of Massachusetts Amherst's research farm, Waltham Field Station.  Waltham 29 broccoli garden seeds have been cultivated to deliver higher yields and grow uniform vegetable crops with more repeat harvests. Non-GMO Waltham 29 seeds grow a compact, cold-hardy, and open-pollinated American staple for home gardens and Farmers' Markets. 

Maturity 74 days. A widely adapted, drought-tolerant variety for fall planting. Developed to mature in cold weather. Produces a head 4 to 8" in diameter, which holds for a long time. Leaves are borne on a low, compact plant having a distinctive slate-green color. This is a good variety for freezing.
